Southbank Residence

Luxe, flexibility and warmth.

This new approach to a sky-high Melbourne apartment called for a complete rethink of the prescribed interior design style. The owners wanted to personalise the space while introducing a hotel-style sophistication to their new off-the-plan home. With soaring ceilings, a vast floor plan, and dominating drop-dead city outlook, our challenge was to instill human scale proportions into this somewhat uncompromising interior architecture. We recomposed the apartment interior design through rich textural layering: cushions and throws for luxurious warmth, and floor and table lamps for varied functions and ambience. We introduced a “mix and match” furniture palette in a handful of varied fabric selections for our clients’ love of entertaining and hosting guests. Each piece can be moved throughout living and guest accommodation as required while still complementing the overall interior decor style. Large volumes were refocussed as intimate pockets to bring character and personality; new and unexpected areas of delight were introduced, such as the custom designed curved window bench seat – the perfect spot for taking in an evening cocktail with friends.
